Understanding Classic Eyelash Extensions
The main difference between classic lashes and other styles like hybrid, volume, or mega volume is the number of extensions applied to each natural lash.
With classic lash extensions, we apply one extension to each natural lash. This is called a 1 to 1 ratio. Other techniques use more than one extension per natural lash.
Most of our clients who wish for a natural-looking appearance that’s subtle and elegant will opt for this technique.
Length
A good rule of thumb is to choose extensions that are about 2 mm longer than your natural lashes.
Natural eyelashes lengths vary from client to client, but we typically use extensions between 8 mm and 12 mm.
This ensures that the extensions will look very natural without being too heavy for the natural lashes.
Thickness
There are various thicknesses of extensions used for the classic technique in the industry.
At Divine Lashes, we prioritize natural-looking looks and the health of the natural lashes.
For that reason, we only use thicknesses ranging from 0.07 mm to 0.15 mm.
To put things into perspective, here’s a list of the weight of one lash extension for various thicknesses:
- 0.07 mm is 0.00006 g
- 0.10 mm is 0.00010 g
- 0.12 mm is 0.00013 g
- 0.15 mm is 0.00015 g
- 0.18 mm is 0.00025 g
- 0.20 mm is 0.00030 g
As you can see, thicker extensions are heavier.
Why does this matter?
Because your natural lashes can only support a certain amount of weight. If they carry too much, they can get damaged and fall out early.
We’ve had clients coming from other salons where classic sets were done using extensions thicker than 0.15 mm. Unfortunately, it almost always lead to damaged natural eyelashes.
Material
At Divine Lashes, we use only premium-quality extensions made from PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate).
This material is known for its durability and flexibility, which allows us to create lashes that closely resemble your natural eyelashes in both look and feel.
Unlike some other materials, PBT extensions are resistant to wear and tear. They hold their shape and curl beautifully, ensuring that your lashes maintain their stunning appearance for longer.
They are also extremely lightweight. It makes them very comfortable to wear throughout the day. You won’t even feel them.
