My eyelash extension appointments always follow the same structure for first-time clients.
There are 3 main phases:
- Salon arrival
- Procedure
- Beautiful moment
Let’s dive in! 🙂
Salon Arrival
Client Intake Form
When you arrive at Divine Lashes, I will ask you to out a Client Intake Sheet.
This is a simple step that will only take you a few minutes.
But it’s very important.
It allows me to keep track of your eyelash health, and procedures you might have done at other salons.

Consultation
I will then complete a thorough consultation.
I love this step.
This is a crucial moment where your lash artist wants to understand the look you’re looking for.
Most of my clients come with pictures they found online to show me the kind of looks they want to replicate (sometimes from my website gallery!).
This is incredibly helpful.
It also allows me to have a frank discussion with my client.
My number 1 priority has always been, and will always be my client’s natural lashes health. Therefore, I want to make sure the extensions I apply can be done safely.
Sadly, not everyone is a candidate for a bold volume look. Your natural lashes will dictate what can be done.
Also, I can help you determine which lash style (cat-eye, dolly, natural, etc.) would look best for you.
I’ll look at your facial characteristics to give my recommendations. For example, I’ll look at how far apart your eyes are, the size of your eyes, and the direction of your natural eyelashes.
If you want to dive deeper into that subject, I’ve written a complete guide on the best lash styles for your eyes.

Makeup off
After the consultation, I’ll ask you to remove your makeup if you have some.
That’s because extensions can only be applied on squeaky clean eyelashes.
No mascara!
I want my clients to have the best possible retention.

Procedure
Before Picture
I like to take a “before picture”. That way, I can show my client the before/after transformation at the end.
Sure, you could just take a look in the mirror.
But putting both pictures side-by-side really tells a story.
Preparation
Then, I’ll ask you to lie down on the treatment table and make yourself comfortable.
Our tables are super comfy and padded.
Most of my clients actually fall asleep under their warm blankets! Yep, lash naps are a thing.
I’ll then apply gel patches under your eyes for comfort. Then, I’ll tape down the bottom part of your lashes using surgical tape.

The last preparation step is to thoroughly clean your natural eyelashes to remove any makeup residue or oil.
This is super important.
It allows the lash adhesive to bond the extension and the natural eyelash strongly together.
Lash Application
Finally! This is where the magic happens.
I isolate each natural lash (yes, one by one) and carefully attach a single extension or a volume fan.
This is very meticulous work.
It needs to be repeated dozens of times for each eye!
Want something soft and natural? Done. More volume? I got you.
By playing with the extensions’ lengths, thicknesses, and curls, I can customize the style based on our discussion during the consultation.
For example, a cat-eye look will have longer lengths on the outer corner of the eye.

Curing
After the extensions are applied, we cure them.
So what does that mean?
In a nutshell, the key component in every lash adhesive is cyanoacrylate.
This agent initially bonds through air exposure.
However, it’s the moisture in the surrounding environment that allows it to fully cure.
That’s why I’ll apply moisture to “force cure” the lashes at the end of our appointment.
That way, you won’t need to wait 24–48 hours before exposing your eyelashes to water. With the force curing method, waiting 4 hours after your appointment is sufficient.

Final Touch
I’ll comb through your lashes to give them the final polish look. I’ll then carefully remove the gel pads and do the grand reveal.

Beautiful Moment
After Picture
This is the “ooh and ahh” moment for my clients!
It’s the best part of my job. 🙂
When I hand them a mirror and they see their smile — it just makes my day.

Once again, it’s time for our clients to pose for the camera as we take the “After” shot.
We can then look at the before/after pictures together and see the transformation!

Gifts and Maintenance
Before you leave, I’ll give you a small bag with a few goodies:
- A bottle of eyelash shampoo for cleaning your lashes at home. (Daily cleansing is a must).
- An aftercare card. (Don’t sleep on aftercare!).
- A spoolie brush for your lashes.
Follow-up Appointment
Most of my clients book their follow-up appointments immediately. They typically come back every 2–3 weeks to keep their lash game strong.
Conclusion
That sums it up! I’m sure you’ll love your experience at Divine Lashes.
I can’t wait to meet you 🙂
